As it turned out, with little manual tweaking it is possible, contrary to the popular belief, to get it working under Windows 64-bit. Recently I‘ve got myself the MINI VCI cable to play with. So, I can confirm that it DOES work in Win 10, you just need to "wiggle it a bit" to make it work. Still trying to figure out what the K line does. For reference, the DLC3 cable diagnostic showed only K and L as red, while all the rest, including CAN-L and CAN-H as green. I connected my 2012 Camry as it sit the newest Toyota we have and TEchstream worked flawlessly.

I tried to do the update driver on each and point to the xhorse directory, but both said the current driver was newer.ģ) I did do the registry update/merge and once I did that it worked.Ĥ) As to the key, there is a txt file that has the key in it that you have to use to activate it.

I found "Universal Serial Converter" under the "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" heading and "USB Serial Port" under "Ports (COM & LPT)" and made sure it was COM4 (use the advanced button under port setting of the properties to change it.

I was stuck unable to communication to VIM without step C and worked fine afterwards.Just got my cable today (ordered this one for $16) and did not have a CD/DVD drive in any laptop, so I thought I was screwed. Run Techstream and select the matching VIM version installed by MultiDriver Plug-in dongle, put Prius in accessory or ready mode

Run MultiDriver and install the a matching dongle firmware version driver. Activate Techstream via various methods depending on where you got it from. Here is the installer + page its onĪfter installing this, Device Manager will show USB to Serial device (COM3 for me)ĭ. I read most Chinese Mini-VCI J2534 are FTDI chip so need their USB to serial driver. Never had a virus problem but its a Win10 partition I use strictly for electronics diagnostic purposes and no personal info.Ĭ. Anti-virus will flag trojan but I told it to accept it. Including drivers for several version of firmware on dongles.
Used Autokent's 64b MVCI MultiDriver, search on. Need 3 pieces of software : Techstream of course, a 64b VIM driver, a USB to serial driver for your dongleī. Also got stuck awhile with no VIM communication. Just installed the latest Techstream (v16.00.017, 2/2021) on Win10 on my several years old ebay Mini-VCI J2534 dongle.
